走入藏匿在大馬路旁的魚鱗巷,曾經漁夫們將漁貨擔攬在身上,一步步的從月津港口上岸,通過狹窄的巷弄,將魚貨運往巷弄底的市場叫賣。隨著大量的漁貨進出,巷弄時常會掉落許多晶瑩的魚鱗片,再加上漁夫們會順手將其塗抹在牆面上,以至於魚鱗滿佈牆面,久久不會褪去。
依靠機械甩動金屬片的動態使其呈現自然的晃動樣貌,它不再只是模仿與擬態,而是仿若生命自然的顫動與漸弱,小巷環境光影的晃動與漸熄,推溯著過往的歷史,帶著生命力的擺盪,洄游過去至此時此刻,生生不息。
The Fish Scale Alley hidden beside the road, where fisherman used to carry fishes, walking step by step from Yuejin harbor through the alley, to the market where they peddle. As numerous fishes come and go, scales often fall in the alley. The fisherman will rub the scales on to the wall, so the wall is covered in scales till now.
The dynamics of mechanical movement shakes the metal pieces, creating a natural appearance. It’s no longer an imitation or mimicry, but a natural trembling and weakening of life. The light and shadow in the alley goes on and off, tracing the past, with the swing of vitality, migrating from the past to present, endlessly.
